As I mentioned in my last post, my new blog site launched in January 2023 and I was super proud of seeing my vision come to life. I was officially sharing my journey with the hopes to encourage and inspire others! Yes, it was scary to put myself out there to the world but it was also quite freeing!! I was showing up to the world as my full self, doing what I love to do and building community while doing it!
Well, about 3 weeks into launching my site I found out some great and unexpected news! I received a call on February 2, 2023 from the same realtor who listed the space I was trying to acquire back in 2022….yesss, the same space I saw “the sign.” If you know you know! {You can find out about “the sign” by reading the post entitled “I Found My Location, So I Thought: March 8, 2023. All the details are there!} I couldn’t believe it! It had almost been one full year since we initially started moving forward with this location! Let me remind you, last year my funding request was rejected so I just knew for a fact there was NO WAY this space would still be available today! BUT what’s for you will be for you no matter what!!!
The realtor asked if I was still interested. I told her yes! You see, I always knew deep down on the inside that if this space was still available in 2023 then it was meant for me! There was no doubt in my mind! This was and still is MY space (speaking by faith)! The best part about this location is that it was a pre-existing spa space so it already meets most of my needs with only small renovations required to fully meet my overall vision!
Confession time: Last year when the SBA loan was rejected at the underwriters desk I was crushed to say the very least! I cried many, many tears and felt as though my dream was over! One of the biggest reasons I cried the way I did was because I felt so strongly that this particular space was mine and when the funding didn’t get approved I was confused, wondering why would I feel so strongly about a location for it all to be taken away?! Why would God allow me to get so far in this process to leave me with such disappointment? We were so close to the finish line! When 2023 rolled around I checked to see if the location was still available but it was no longer listed so I didn’t get my hopes up & believed that it was gone! Soon after, I found out that there were several possible tenants that were interested but for some reason none of which went through successfully! Honestly, I couldn’t believe it! God had me in His hands the whole time! GRATEFUL is all I can say!
Y’all, what is for you will be for you and no one else!!! It doesn’t matter how much time passes, it doesn’t matter the circumstances, nor does it matter how many folks may try to take what’s already deemed to be yours! What’s for you will be for you!!!
I’m still believing by faith that it will all work out! Only time will tell! …and work, and faith, and persistence! {I had to add that in there too}
Be sure to come back next week and I’ll share with you some of the things I did next to move forward with starting the process all over again!!! Let the journey continue and make sure you enjoy it while in the process!!!
